1661 Summit Street
Kansas City, MO 64108
Summit at Sixteenth is 24 living units
in one continuous building. The units range from one to four
levels and encompass seven different floor plans.
The building's design, distinctive in its mixture of modern stainless
steel with warm brick and stucco accents, was created by the architecture
firm Gould Evans Goodman Associates LC. The building was completed
in late summer 2004.
Summit at Sixteenth sits on a bluff that offers expansive, unobstructed
views of the city. Its location, slightly northeast of Kemper
Arena on the southwest corner of 16th Street and Summit, makes it
easily accessible to both the arena and cultural outlets such as
the Folly Theater and the new Performing Arts Center.
The metro flats offered at Summit at Sixteenth are step-free one-bedroom
condominiums with attached one-car garages and 857 square feet of
living space. The townhouses are built above them and loft-style
units complete the mix. All garages are rear-entry and are
on the lowest level. Four of the townhouses have rooftop decks
and balconies that are suitable for roof gardens, the developer
said. All units have some type of outdoor space.
Lofts range from 1,377 to 1,422 square feet of living space and
townhouses have up to 2,458 square feet of living space. Several
of the units are accessed by elevators.
Summit at Sixteenth is an urban gated community with a European
auto courtyard. The units feature granite countertops, bamboo
flooring and stainless steel appliances. All ceilings
are a minimum of 10 feet high and some units have ceilings as high
as 15 feet. Most of the garages are attached to the units.
Homeowner's dues vary from $103 to $340 a month depending on the
unit and covers all exterior maintenance and upkeep, water for each
unit, upkeep of the common areas and insurance on the building's
exterior.
All pets are allowed, with no size restrictions. Summit at Sixteenth's
location offers easy access to Kansas City International airport,
Crown Center and the River Market areas. The Country Club
Plaza is a 10-minute drive away and the Truman Sports Complex is
12 minutes by car.
The Blue Bird Bistro and popular breadmaker Fervere are right in
the neighborhood. Annual events such as the Kansas City Blues and
Jazz Festival take place just down the street.
Summit at Sixteenth combines the old with the new while providing
convenience and accessibility for those who enjoy spending part
of their lives in the city.
