909 Walnut Street
Kansas City, MO 64106
Completed in 1931, the 35-story building
at 909 Walnut began as the home for the Fidelity Bank & Trust.
It was later the home to federal government offices. The address
of the building was 911 Walnut, but was changed to 909 shortly after
the events of September 11th.
The building was converted into 159 luxury
rental units with an average rent of about $1.25 per square foot.
In addition to the apartments, there is approximately 70,000 square
feet of office space. The building features a health club,
and a rooftop garden atop a new parking garage.
In addition to the rental units, two
penthouse condos occupy one of the building's two distinctive rooftop
towers.
At the time of completion, 909 Walnut
is Missour's tallest apartment building. The conversion was
completed in October 2005.
